We take great pride in having a thriving sixth form with a distinct identity and defined goals. Our goal is to motivate students to work hard and do their best while having a great time as a Sixth Form along the way. Both academic and personal achievements are enjoyed by our pupils. They are encouraged to learn in a demanding yet welcoming environment, and they receive help at every stage of their journey with us. Students particularly value this help, which is seen as a real strength of our sixth form. The amount of former students who still keep in touch with the school is evidence of the good education they received. Our success rate in getting students into higher education is remarkable, with virtually all of them getting accepted to the school of their choice. Our students get degrees from colleges all throughout the nation in fields ranging from social sciences to engineering, from law to medical. As an alternative, we provide a growing number of opportunities for people to consider various possibilities, such apprenticeships. Students in the sixth form benefit from a new perspective on school life as well as more flexibility and accountability for their own studies. As a result, we encourage a diverse and well-rounded experience through enrichment activities, personal growth, and social gatherings. We hope that by doing this, you will grow as a person and acquire employable skills that will help you in the future. You will be inspired to participate actively in everything we do by two student presidents who are leading an energetic sixth form committee. Whatever you decide to study, we have no doubt that you will have a great time at Joseph Rowntree Sixth Form and take use of the opportunities it will present.
