122 Year 6 students participated in the Summer School for our entering Year 7 during the first week of the summer break at Jesmond Park Academy. Over the course of the week, the kids engaged in a variety of activities intended to enhance learning, boost confidence, acquaint pupils with the faculty and campus, and smooth the transition from Year 6 to Year 7. The week's schedule was filled with a variety of activities, such as baking in Food Tech, science projects, drama, a small Olympics on the school field, Mandarin classes, and art sessions. Daily lessons in math, English, and physical education were given. Every morning, a breakfast club was given for students, and drop-off was possible beginning at 8 a.m. Students might speak with the school counsellor if they had any worries about transitioning from primary to secondary school. The personnel impressed me with their friendliness and tolerance. They were skilled and pastorally caring, which helped my son manage his emotional control issues and anxieties. Parent. helped a great deal with my child's confidence in switching schools. Summer school is a terrific idea because it allows kids to meet their new classmates and feel at home in a new school setting. My child loved it very much. Parent. I've had a tonne of fun and am very happy I came. I've made a tonne of new friends and coworkers. incoming 7th grader.
