The Academy at Hummersknott is prosperous and successful.
We also take pleasure in our dedication to providing a well-rounded education through a variety of extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school.
The Hummersknott Active Centre is working to create a variety of activities for both enjoyment and study by making the facilities accessible for private hire. We are devoted to growing the academy as a facility for the neighbourhood.
The academy presently accepts 240 students annually, who are divided into 5 colleges of entrance due to its extreme oversubscription.
We are devoted to making sure that every student has access to a variety of languages.
In Year 7, every student takes either German, French, or Spanish.
Every student studies a language to a certain level.
Our kids get the chance to interact with students in France, Germany, Italy, and China through exchange programmes and international field trips because we have partner schools in these nations.
When Hummersknott first moved into this facility in 1955, it was the Girls' High School.
The first phase of a $14.5 million renovation effort began in 2006, giving students and staff access to cutting-edge amenities.
On July 1, 2011, the school became an academy.
A student's college block is where they are registered.
Inter-college events happen every week, and extracurricular activities are a big part of the school.
The academy holds that success requires a strong collaboration between the faculty, parents, and students.
