The Sisters of Mercy founded Holy Family School, a voluntary-aided Roman Catholic school, in 1965.
The school is equipped with a fully functional gym, a kitchen where meals are prepared every day, a sizable field for play and activities, and an outdoor pool that is heated.
When they turn eleven, the kids can transfer to one of Southend's two Catholic high schools, St. Thomas More High School for boys or St. Bernard's High School for girls, one of the city's selective schools, or one of the neighbourhood comprehensive schools.
Our priests often celebrate Masses with the entire school.
Additionally, they often visit the school and hold liturgical and reconciliation services at the proper periods of the year.
Children from Key Stage 2 occasionally walk to Holy Family Church for morning Mass during the summer term.
Sunday Mass at Holy Family Church at 10:00 am is designated as a school/family Mass at least twice a term, and we invite all families to participate in these events.
Our goals are to uphold the presence of Christ in all that we do, to educate the kids to the best of their ability in the context of the gospel, and to strengthen the Parish Community.
