The basic British principles of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all religions and beliefs must be promoted in all schools, according to the DfE, which has lately reaffirmed the need for doing so.
We acknowledge the multi-cultural and multi-religious nature of the UK, which is mirrored in our school community, and we are aware of the critical role we play in advancing these values.
The following statement summarises how our school actively and consistently promotes British Values across the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
Through our School Council, Rushcliffe Pupil Parliament (RPP), student questionnaires, student voice interviews, and our Green Group, students have the chance to have their opinions heard.
Children are taught how to enjoy their rights and personal freedoms safely, for instance through our e-safety and PSHE courses, and are encouraged to know, understand, and exercise these rights and freedoms.
Children are given the flexibility to make choices, whether it is through their choice of challenge, how they record their work, which work they select to go in their RoA, or participation in our many extracurricular organisations and possibilities.
According to the Nottingham Agreed Syllabus, we teach and discuss identity, belonging, and diversity in RE teachings in order to encourage individual autonomy.
Respect is the central theme of our school's culture and goal.
Our behaviour policy is built on the idea that every child should be treated fairly and with respect.
In our physical education classes, we stress equity and fairness.
Children are encouraged to respect others, comprehend others, and accept variety in both our RE lessons and other subjects.
Understanding and respect for various groups in society are promoted by our inclusive culture and efforts to help regional and national charities.
We have connection schools between Poland and Japan so that kids can learn about various cultures.
Prejudice-related assemblies and debates have been followed and reinforced by lessons in RE, PSHE, e-safety, anti-bullying week, and Show Racism the Red Card activities.
To improve instruction in classes and throughout the school, people of all faiths are urged to share their knowledge.
Every year, we have a community cohesion week to encourage understanding of other religions, ideologies, and cultures.
Every month, we celebrate a different language, and we encourage kids to speak to their peers in their own tongue.
For work in this field, we received the Stephen Lawrence Award.
