There are over 320 students enrolled with ages ranging from Nursery (age 3) to Year 6. (age 11).
There are 12 classes at Hermitage, spread out among three buildings.
In addition to frequenting theatres, museums, and the Gorsefield Residential Center, we have connections to the Hermitage Moorings River project, the Whitechapel Art Gallery, Wadham College at Oxford University, the Tower of London, and News International.
We collaborate closely with other schools to make sure that our instruction builds on best practises from other institutions. Examples of these collaborations include St. Peters and Oaklands Secondary School's "Connecting Classrooms" initiative, which links schools in Chapai, Bangladesh, and Seven Mills Primary School with Oaklands Secondary School.
We participate in sporting events, and most recently, after competing against other Tower Hamlets schools, we won the Maths League.
Hermitage's expansive grounds give us the opportunity to learn about environmental responsibility, and we work to be a community that encourages a sustainable way of living.
We are working toward the gold award and currently hold silver eco school status.
Due to the fact that we are a forest school, we make sure that our dedication to learning outside is fulfilled through engaging activities.
We recently received the Inclusion Quality Mark, which will recognise the work we undertake to assist all of the students in the school realise their full potential. We are a fully inclusive school.
We understand that juggling work and family is difficult for working parents and carers, so Hermitage provides inexpensive wraparound childcare from 8 am to 5:45 pm, including with a breakfast club and play area.
