From the Heelands School
We want the students at Heelands to be inquisitive learners who can endure, push themselves, and grow up to be compassionate and responsible citizens. Our whole school Values of Friendship, Respect, Self-belief, Cooperation, Challenge and Responsibility begin to lay those foundations for the future and promote British Values in an age-appropriate way for our pupils. Every half-term we celebrate a new Value and parents are invited into school for the launch to do a creative activity with their child which helps to reinforce the value at home. Values Visits are usually a lot of fun, and families are generally very supportive, which shows how crucial this component of learning and growth is. When a student is observed exhibiting a value at school, they are given a pebble, which they collect and bring to the Friday Values Assembly. Each class teacher also selects their "Values Champion" for the week at this assembly; this is always a fantastic honour! The class with the most pebbles receives a certificate at the conclusion of the semester.
