From the Haynes Lower School
We think that every kid has the right to a comprehensive, equitable, timely, and stimulating education. Throughout their time at our school, the children can grow in confidence, make progress, learn new things, and build and embed skills thanks to our curriculum. We urge kids to grow up to be decent citizens who contribute to society at large by promoting principles and tolerance within the school community. Therefore, the foundation of all we do is our values-based approach to education. The DfE has recently reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.". British values were defined by the government in the Prevent Strategy of 2011, and they were reaffirmed in 2014. Our ideals at Haynes Lower School serve as the cornerstone of our entire community. Our schools' vision, goals, and ethos are influenced by our principles. We promote and uphold the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for and tolerance of people of various faiths through our spiritual, moral, social, and cultural education. Through the school's ethos and work, we make sure that the core British Values are introduced, discussed, and lived out. Lessons offer chances to deepen and extend comprehension, and a range of curriculum topics offer means of advancing understanding of these ideas. Children that participate in our values education programme enthusiastically embrace these ideas and show that they have a solid grasp on how to apply them to their own lives. Please see the examples of how we promote important British values below. This list is not all-inclusive, but we try to live up to and demonstrate the ideals wherever possible.
