Hawksworth CE Primary School places a high value on communal worship. Through our collective worship we aim to provide a caring and supportive environment for children to experience some of the essential features of Christian prayer and worship; to be able to reflect upon the value, purpose and meaning of things; to reflect on right and wrong; to share times of joy and sadness together and to reflect upon ideas concerning beauty. Every day, at the conclusion of the school day, before the kids leave for the day, they gather in all classes for a time of contemplation and prayer. In addition to the daily acts of communal prayer at school, school services are also held at St. Oswald's parish church. These services include a Christmas service, an Easter service, and a year-end service. All of these religious services are open to parents and relatives.
