Of course, sixth grade is the first year of secondary education.
HISTORY This term, we will be studying World War II.
As their grandparents or great grandparents might be able to provide them with first-hand knowledge of the war years, for the kids this is their first chance to think about "living history."
Churchill's picture will take you to an intriguing website when you click on it.
We will examine the impact that war may have had on kids, especially those in the Hardwicke region, in Autumn 2. "\sSCIENCE Our science course this semester is centred on green plants and living beings.
By thinking about "Digging for Victory" and "Potato Pete," we'll remind the kids what plants need to survive while tying it into our current topic.
As we learn more about Creation and Cosmology, we'll try to find the answers to questions like these.
To view more thought-provoking video clips on the topic, click on God's hand (from Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel artwork).
Of course, our attention will be on the Year 6 math and English objectives.
There are still a lot of new things to learn even though some of what we do is revision.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do to help is to motivate your child(ren) to read more, read more, and read some more—ideally for 20 minutes a day, to an adult.
To take advantage of the nice weather, kindly make sure PE kits are brought to school each day.
Best regards, The Year 6 Team is made up of Mrs. Walpole, Mrs. Boughton, Mrs. Hathaway, Mr. Pegg, Mrs. Mustoe, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Caddick, and Mrs. Wintle.
