A large chunk of Ashford's recent growth can be attributed to its location on the rail line that connects London with Europe.
The estate of Park Farm, located south of Ashford and close to the village of Kingsnorth, has experienced considerable growth.
In November 2013, Furley Park decided to become an academy, joining forces with Hamstreet Primary to create ACE Learning, a multi-academy trust.
In response to the local population expansion, a second phase of the single form entry school was quickly established in September 2000. Plans are currently underway to expand once more as we develop to a sizable three form entry primary.
The institution is located on a side of the Park Farm Estate and has views of farmland and woods behind it.
In 1836, Sir John Furley was born in Ashford.
He served as one of the Red Cross Society's first presidents and was a founding member of the St. John's Ambulance Association.
A connection to the community was considered vital when choosing a name for the new school.
When the school was fully enrolled in 2004, the Furley Park Logo was unveiled.
The Maltese Cross that appears in the St. John's Ambulance logo is a representation of it since it was created to highlight the link with Sir John Furley.
