From the Eliot Bank Primary School
At Eliot Bank, we are aware that students who approach their education with a positive outlook will succeed and make good progress. All of our students should enjoy challenges, accept mistakes as a necessary part of learning, recognise the worth of work, carefully consider criticism, and draw inspiration from others. This will assist them in succeeding, both with us and in their adult life once they leave us. Together, learn, explore, and develop. At Eliot Bank, we instil this in all of our students. We know that in order to fulfil the potential of our pupils and encourage them to become confident and resilient learners we, as a team of parents and staff, need to be modelling the mindset of a learner who is not afraid of making mistakes but who thrives upon them, knowing that this is all part of the learning process. Their success at school and at home depends on how we support learning and exploration in young children. At Eliot Bank, we continually work to challenge and enhance the learning-related attitudes of all students and staff by taking into account what constitutes a good learner. What type of learners we want to be and how we might positively respond to obstacles both inside and outside the classroom are topics we frequently discuss in class. View some of the links below for further details on how to support resilient and self-assured learners at home.
