This plan outlines our desire to question accepted wisdom and uncover fresh information in order to improve society. This document, which was correctly created by university personnel and students, outlines our goals for research as well as the steps we will take to attain those goals in a clear and certain manner. In order to achieve this, the new 2015-2020 Strategic Framework for DMU is being implemented in tandem with the Research Strategy for the years 2018–2023. We have a history of conducting research that benefits society and significantly alters people's lives through enhancing infrastructure, innovation, economic growth, business, and civil society, as well as health and well-being. Our dedication to research is fundamental to our mission to foster critical thinking in our students. This was recognised in the assessment received by the university in the Teaching Excellence Framework which highlighted research that "fed into the curriculum through a focus on application to real-world settings and research-led work placements". Our new strategy is timely as the UK deals with issues like Brexit, economic development, ageing populations' needs, changes in the workplace, and our security in both the physical and virtual worlds. Global issues include reacting to the opportunities and challenges posed by globalisation, climate change, shifting power arrangements, and the ensuing difficulties posed by migration and economic expansion.
