Henry Ford's inventive and effective assembly lines revolutionised the auto industry in the 1930s. Education has experienced a similar "modernization" trend during the past few decades. One of the results is a National Curriculum that is taught to students during their time in school and is jam-packed with skills and knowledge. The curriculum is often broken up into preset, frequently unconnected chunks of learning that are laid out throughout the weeks, terms, and years in order to ensure that nothing is missed. Like other institutions, we want to make sure that our students advance significantly in their acquisition of the skills and knowledge assigned to them. Although we are extremely proud of the outcomes we have thus far achieved, we are also adamant that our kids acquire the learning habits and Christian values of curiosity, collaboration, imagination, discipline, and perseverance that are essential for successful lifelong learning and spiritual growth. Due to this drive, we have switched from the traditional "assembly line" approach of education to one that can engage and inspire creative minds. All ages of kids are given the chance to work together to co-create exciting projects that inspire everyone to do their absolute best. The ongoing intrinsic benefit of working toward genuine outcomes—such as exhibitions, book releases, and theatrical performances—to which the entire school community is invited, takes the role of extrinsic rewards. * The phrase "life in all its fullness" is drawn from John 10.10, where Jesus declares, "I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full."
