Actually, LGfL is expanding nationwide.
It's more of a National Grid for Learning now that we cover many schools throughout the UK, including some in Liverpool, Sandwell, Hastings, and the Midlands.
The possibilities that the cloud provides excite me greatly.
So it's conceivable that cloud will be used to engage kids in learning.
The economics of scale make cloud computing simple for institutions to support.
The "Let's Get Digital" initiative of LGfL includes a plan that is clearly motivated by making cloud computing function in classrooms.
Redesigning networking for the cloud.
Additionally, service bundling is a major money-saver.
Use of our savings calculator is not contingent upon being an LGfL subscriber.
Schools can use case studies, user reviews, content from categories like safeguarding, and other resources to learn more about how an LGfL membership works.
We also provide a number of programmes that assist with various aspects of schools' digital transition.
For instance, the TechSquad enables schools and the organisations that support them to maximise cloud-based technologies.
In order to connect students to the finest practises in education, we have partnerships in place with numerous SMEs throughout London and the Home Counties.
Many organisations purchase technology because it is convenient and readily available in classrooms.
But absorbing it is something that many struggle with.
Although it seems obvious, many schools lack a simple, effective plan of action.
Consider your goals and the ways in which technology may support them.
Second, senior management must support your objectives.
Staff members must be comfortable and up to date with the technology available to them.
Don't forget to make sure that every employee has a say in what occurs.
A "digital champion," or even two champions in larger institutions, can make a significant effect through their trusted interface.
In addition to these issues, the utilisation of legacy systems is a significant one for many institutions.
Numerous systems now in use in schools were created in the days of the dinosaurs and cannot simply be "lifted and transferred" into the cloud.
Additionally, it's crucial to keep in mind that not everything needs to be in the cloud and that any digital transformation will take time.
Effective hybrid systems are possible.
One of my more contentious ideas is that we should have an industry regulator for edtech, just as we do for energy, television, and other industries.
There is certainly a role for it, and although I have the advantage of being able to stand on my soapbox a little bit due to running a charity, not a profit-making FTSE 100 company or something, I have seen some behaviour in the sector that disappoints me.
Standardization and regulation may be highly beneficial.
The major cloud players must participate in the discussion as well.
A registered charity is LGfl.
