It is acknowledged that certain students have significant difficulties reaching their full academic potential and that other children may have physical, emotional, or behavioural issues. This is in accordance with the school's goal to provide equality of education for all students.
Coppull St. John's Primary School is dedicated to integrating students with special needs into the classroom and will work to accommodate all students with special needs in accordance with the national "Code of Practice."
JOHN'S. In order to address a wide range of needs, Coppull St. John's Primary School employs a variety of treatments.
Several therapies have been employed to good effect. Children with reading and spelling challenges can benefit from indirect dyslexia learning (IDL).
Every class instructor and teaching assistant plays a crucial role in giving assistance and making arrangements so that every kid, regardless of ability, has the chance to access the curriculum.
Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Marston The SENCO's responsibility is to monitor SEND progress and services throughout the entire school.
In order to explore areas of need and "pool" knowledge to support the school, child, and family, the SENCO meets with parents/caregivers and outside agencies.
There is a tiered strategy set up in accordance with the new Code of Practice (2014) to identify whether children have special educational needs and the procedure in which the SENCO, practitioners, parents/caregivers, and other agencies become engaged.
At Coppull St. John's Primary School, parents are urged to completely engage in and participate in their child's education.
The school does, however, have a "Open Door" policy that invites parents to speak with class teachers, designated teaching assistants, the SENCO, or other members of the senior leadership team at any time before or after school or by appointment on any issues.
