From the Condover College Limited
Someone who merely desired the greatest opportunity for his son started Condover College. Matthew McGill attended Condover Hall School in Shrewsbury in 2004, which was then managed by the Royal National Institute for the Blind. Steve intervened when the RNIB declared that the school was in danger of closing. He made a proposal to lease the property for an initial term of ten years while serving on the board of governors. Even though we only had our educational centre and three residential schemes when we first started, we now have 12 residential schemes, Short Breaks at our Greenfields scheme, and an Opportunities Programme that enable our students to realise their highest dreams. We believe our success is due to putting our learners first, always reaching for excellence and being focused on satisfying individual requirements. This mindset can be seen in our organisational structure. We are not about making money for shareholders because we are a charity exempt from registration under the Cooperative and Community Benefit Societies Act. We completely invest in the people we help. Unfortunately, Steve, our founder, died away in 2014. His dedication to giving everyone the greatest care and opportunity is still something we honour today.
