From the School
Greetings and a hearty welcome to Colston's, or at the very least, to our website.
Since I have to convince you that this is a school worth visiting and I don't have much time before you click to the next fascinating page, I'm afraid this is going to be pretty difficult.
Our young people, many of whom are still in their formative years, learn a great deal about themselves and the world they live in at Colston's School, which is a joyful and active place.
Come see Colston's; it's an intriguing location.
If you'll bear with me, I'll try to elaborate on why I believe you should go to Colston's: You should first visit each school you are thinking about because they are all unique.
Feel various," Mr. McCullough?
Are you suggesting that we pick a school based on how it "feels"?
I am sure that the best way to determine if you will be happy at/with a school is to visit, meet the people, the kids and teachers, and soak up the environment. Everyone who attends school is different, but they all need, above all else, to be happy at school.
Beginning in Year 7, Colston's Upper School prepares pupils for GCSEs and, ultimately, A Levels in our Sixth Form by guiding them through the secondary stage of their study.
The Year 7 curriculum is structured to cover a wide range of courses, giving students the chance to learn more about the different options available for GCSE-level study.
A Colston education, however, goes much beyond the classroom, with opportunities for service, music, sport, and a variety of clubs all contributing to the distinctive experience the school has to offer.
Every year, a sizable number of pupils from the maintained and independent sectors join the cohort transferring from our Lower School.
All students entering Year 7 go through a thorough induction procedure at the school, which is meant to help them adjust and catch up as quickly as possible when school starts in September. (Our student body is varied, and we accept students from outside of Bristol as well as the city.
We provide a number of academic scholarships for Year 7 admission, as well as prizes for those who succeed in sport, music, and, in Year 9, drama.
Year 9 and Year 12 are the other two main entry stages, however we occasionally accept new students into other year groups as well.
Opportunities for extracurricular participation, leadership, and service are prevalent throughout the school and play a significant role in the all-encompassing education we provide.
Please plan a visit in the Admissions area right away.
