A 4–11 Church of England, Voluntary Controlled Primary School, Colerne was established in 1958 and is situated on the outskirts of the village in its own sizable grounds. Nine classes are currently offered, some of which are vertically grouped. All classes are evenly divided by age and gender and are mixed ability. Children are placed in friendship groups wherever it is possible. We sincerely think that a school operates most successfully when parents and staff have a mutually beneficial relationship. As a result, we heartily urge parents to participate actively in school activities and hope that you will feel comfortable sharing your knowledge for the benefit of all of our kids. There is an active Friends of Colerne School group (FRESCO) and everyone is welcome to join. We are a highly joyful and compassionate community where kids feel emotionally safe and where their unique needs, skills, and interests are honestly taken into consideration. By providing both the right environment and a wide range of experiences that are stimulating, we excite the natural curiosity that is inside every child and harness it to guide them towards discovery and a love of learning.
