Co-op Academy Smithies Moor

We are a part of the Co-op Academies Trust, a network of schools bonded by the principles of self-help, self-reliance, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity that underpin the co-operative movement. Together with us, our sponsors help the Academy make important decisions and raise standards for everyone. Our governing board is made up of parents/caregivers, workers, and Co-op representatives. When the co-operative movement first emerged in the middle of the nineteenth century, it offered educational programmes for members and their families. On a worldwide level, education is still one of the movement's guiding ideals. The Co-op is committed to encouraging better business practises for you and your community. Anyone who agrees with the co-ideals, beliefs, and values is welcome to join. Its members own and operate it. We display these values by cooperating for the benefit of everybody involved and by becoming involved in our community. In addition to serving its communities, Co-mission op's role as an ethical leader also includes helping them live their best lives. What do we at Smithies Moor hold dear and believe? We have obligations to one another, to other people, and to our neighbourhoods. We respect one another for who we are, and we respect ourselves for who we are.
