A voluntary academy within the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Academy Trust is Christ the King Catholic Primary School. The core of what we do is religious education, and we adhere to the "The Way, The Truth, The Life" programme as advised by the Diocese of Leeds. More information on this is available here. In our school, there is a thriving spiritual community. In the classroom, prayer is an integral part of daily life. On Mondays and Fridays, the entire school gathers for Collective Acts of Worship, and each Key Stage gathers once a week. We are fortunate because our parish church is right across the street, and we frequently go to Mass there throughout the year. We commemorate May as the Month of Mary and hold special services during Advent and Lent to prepare for the feasts of Christmas and Easter. We cordially invite parents to attend Mass and our assemblies for the entire school. Our website lists the dates and timings. Each family receives a weekly copy of "The Wednesday Word," which offers a "word" for discussion at home during their five minutes of quality time together. The "word" is inspired by the upcoming Sunday's Gospel. Through our participation in the Cafod 'Live Simply' Award Scheme and our involvement in the Mini Vinnies group, we put our religion into practise. Children are prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation by parish catechists. We think that everyone is special, distinct, and made in the likeness of God. We work to deepen everyone's relationship with Jesus in our school family. Every day, the school community should show one another respect, help, and cooperation. "To live, to love, to serve in the light of Christ the King.''.
