Chaigeley School, which has received approval from the Department of Education, offers both day care and residential care. The institution is a part of the Chaigeley Educational Foundation, a recognised charitable organisation. The Chaigeley ethos is built on the Quaker ideals of respect for the individual and appreciation for each person's contribution. It provides children with the chance to make decisions in a safe setting while using positive reinforcement and the development of strong, trustworthy connections to foster good progress. In order to be ready for the next phase of their growth, all students are urged to accept accountability for their own actions. The school, its staff and governors are committed to fulfilling the school's Mission Statement which is to "promote and safeguard the education and care of each of its pupils and staff, in order that they realise their true potential". The School Improvement Plan and "Every Child Matters" spring from this, and they are outcomes-driven, using them to gauge effectiveness and pinpoint areas for growth and/or improvement.
