From the Cape Cornwall School
Kites is Cape's dedicated educational facility for students with complex special educational needs, providing a supportive and intermediate alternative to special school or mainstream education. Students receive the greatest and most personalised teaching and learning experiences. All students and staff value the Area Resource Base (ARB), which is a crucial component of the school. All students have access to specialised instruction, settings, and materials, either inside regular classrooms or as a separate group. ARB students are supported by student ambassadors in many facets of school life. Relationships with parents and other carers are improved through effective communication. Students feel safe and happy because of the school's excellent, supportive culture. In September 2013, our Kites ARB launched to serve children from 11 to 16 years old. The only one that serves Penwith is it. 18 students are presently enrolled in education through Kites. We use all of Cape Cornwall School's facilities in addition to our own because Kites is an integral component of it.
