The right of every child (regardless of ability, gender, race, culture, religion, Special Educational Needs and disability or social circumstances) to the best quality education within a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment; and The importance of teaching children to become resilient, independent, responsible, and caring global citizens. The school's positive ethos is based on key Christian values.
We came up with the strapline Dream, Believe, Achieve after the hard work of the entire school community to summarise what makes our school unique back in the fall of 2016. This phrase encapsulated the aspirations we all (staff, governors, parents, and students) had for our students.
However, we never become complacent about the need to work continuously to get better and to push one another to be the best we can be in terms of both our academic endeavours and also in terms of being devoted, strong, and contented citizens.
Throughout the school year 2018–2019, we posed the question, "What next?" to parents, students, teachers, administrators, governors, our church friends, and local residents.
We talked about the best course of action, the aspects of our school that we would all hate to lose, and our future goals.
This vision statement, which has its roots in Christian theology, encapsulates who we are as a caring school community where everyone is respected, valued, and happy.
The needs of the students are at the centre of all the school does, making it a loving community built on Christian principles.
"The school's Christian character results in a secure and caring environment where all children are on track to make at least expected progress," the statement adds. "It also captures what we want for our pupils to be courageous in their academic and life choices; strong and resilient learners and thinkers who don't give up when things are difficult; and to be able to explore their own spirituality and wonder about life's big questions in a supportive environment.
SIAMS 2015.
We adhere to a values curriculum to achieve this.
Students learn the significance of Christian values (such as love, joy, respect, hope, peace, and forgiveness) and have the chance to pose and receive responses to "big questions."
We recognise value-based accomplishments in a number of ways and encourage all members of the school community, including adults and students, to live out our values (including through our Behaviour Policy, in our Praise Assemblies and via our Performance Appraisal system).
As a result, the working and learning environment is compassionate, encouraging, and clearly Christian "We have a close relationship with St. Mary Magdalene Church and frequently visit the building, whether for a service at the end of the semester or for other occasions for learning or worship throughout the year.
Strong ties to the parish church and other Christian organisations benefit students and support the school's Christian identity."
