Welcoming you to Brent Knoll Church of England Primary School gives me great pleasure. Although majority of the current facility, which is located behind the Victorian hall and entrance, was constructed in 2004, the school has existed on this location in the village since 1861. Since those early years, the school has undergone significant change, and today there are 135 students enrolled in five classes. As Head, I have been here for five years, though many of the staff, in contrast, have been here for much longer - and many are stalwarts of the village as well as the school. Children and adults in this little community get along well and provide support for one another. The school became an academy and joined the Wessex Learning Trust (WLT) in April 2019. Hugh Sexey Middle School and Kings of Wessex Academy are two of the schools that make up the WLT network, which is primarily situated in the Cheddar Valley. As a primary, however, where children remain until Year 6, we continue to work closely with the King Alfred Academy (TKASA) secondary school in Burnham on Sea, where the majority of our children choose to go in Year 7. We also keep in touch regularly with Burnham and Highbridge's other primaries. Essentially, we are lucky to be able to collaborate with two school communities. Please come and visit if you're seeking for a school where you truly "belong," but that also provides a wide range of extracurricular activities and high academic standards.
