The basic British principles of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all religions and beliefs must be promoted in all schools, according to the DfE, which has lately reaffirmed the need for doing so.
The school is replete with democracy.
With the help of our student council and student questionnaires, students have the chance to express their opinions.
Only student votes are used to elect House Captains.
After receiving training, anti-bullying ambassadors take the lead in advancing democracy in the classroom.
Students are instructed on the importance of laws, their justifications, how they regulate and safeguard us, the duties associated with this, and the repercussions of breaking the law.
With the knowledge that they are in a secure and encouraging atmosphere at school, students are actively encouraged to make decisions.
We educate young students and set limits for them to make decisions safely as a school by offering a secure setting and empowering instruction.
Students are encouraged to be aware of, comprehend, and exercise their rights and liberties, and are given guidance on how to do so safely, for instance through our E-Safety and PSHE lectures.
Our school's ethos and behaviour expectations centre on core values like "Respect," "Self Awareness," and "High Expectations," and students have participated in conversations and assemblies about what this means and how it is demonstrated.
Every class displays classroom commitments that encourage respect for others, and our classroom and learning behaviours as well as our behaviour norms reinforce this.
