Only 16 pioneering families and a staff who believed they could offer "discipleship as part of a quality christian education" were present when Bradford Christian School first opened its doors in 1993. Both settings were located on the Church on the Way property at Five Lane Ends, Idle, and the school had grown out of the ministry of First Steps Christian Pre-school. Over the following eight years, the school gradually increased to 150 students. Greatly indebted to Church on the Way, the school outgrew the site and took the decision in 2001 to rent rooms on Bolton Lane, a mile from the city centre where a dance school was situated. The location was used in the evening while being used by the school in the morning. Within two terms, we had purchased the school's current location in Bolton Woods. We were able to purchase a vacant school facility, which made the winter of 2001 really joyful. The Secondary Department relocated to Spring Bank the next year after some skillful renovations, and the remainder of the school followed in September 2002. The enrollment of the institution now stands at about 170. We have made regular alterations to the site to accommodate our growth, including converting the old school bike sheds into a very comfortable and inspiring art room in 2006. The school submitted a successful funding request for the Early Years Foundation stage in September 2009. It presently serves as a nursery accepting kids as early as the first term following their third birthday. A DSP unit was established by the school in September 2016 to work with kids who have special educational needs in collaboration with Education Bradford.

I have had four children attend BCS and they have all made excellent academic progress. The school has two Senco’s who work together to support SEND students and they have an Autism Provision within school. BCS also has a student support base within main school, which supports students who have an EHCP who are taking GCSE’s. Within the student support base the school has a full time counsellor who works with students with varying levels...
Do not send your child here they will get nowhere with their education the work will always be repeated over and over again your child can do better than this. They are not interested how the child is feeling so please do not send them here.
My daughter kept on coming home upset because her teacher kept on accusing her being mean to her friends when her friends are being nasty these teachers don't wan to listen to innocent people
I liked the school and staff, but you get the odd one talking to you like a little kid. The work I did which was Maths it was either too easy or too hard and the teachers sometimes did not explain to us how to do the sum and most of the kids were 3,4,5,6 years younger than me. Me and my family regret it sending me there.
This school put themselves before the children. They don't care about your child's mental health. They just get rid unless they sit and behave and mask there autism
