We all shine in this classroom, so hello and welcome to Class One!
Every day during EYFS (Reception year), we work to provide the kids with a rich and engaging learning environment.
Our curriculum in KS1 is significant to us.
In Class One, a committed crew is at work.
Everyone is invited to return to class!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful summer and is prepared to learn a lot in Class 1 this term.
Our goal is to "make learning fun" for our kids as we embark on an exciting and busy term.
There are four adults in Class 1: Mrs. Lane, Mrs. Edenbrow, Ms. Hargreaves, and Mrs. Hall.
We will learn about the lives of notable historical figures including St. Nicholas and Guy Fawkes.
Please continue to use and access your child's Tapestry account in light of this.
We will shortly send you more details on how to access and use Tapestry if you are a new student this term.
Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS): Through play and brief, structured learning sessions, the children will also improve their reading, writing, number, and shape skills.
Your kid will start bringing home a reading book to share with you at some point throughout the term.
Please read through your child's school reading book as frequently as you can because doing so will improve their fluency and help them remember what they learned about phonics.
To let us know how your kid is doing, please note this reading in their reading log.
Please make sure that the kids are consistently practising the following skills at home: identifying one more and one less than any number up to 100; counting to 100 in 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s.
The Year 1/2 students will continue working through the other curriculum subjects in the afternoons. We will investigate materials and their properties in science, learn about the United Kingdom in geography, and learn about notable historical figures and how they contributed to our current way of life.
We need a few things at the beginning of a new school year to foster imagination and creativity.
We would love to use any old clothing, purses, hats, scarves, or other accessories you may have that are appropriate for our role-playing area.
Additionally, we want to replenish the cardboard tubes and boxes that we use in our trash modelling and creative spaces.
Again, please talk to any member of the class 1 team if you have anything you believe might be helpful.
Please make sure that your child has their PE gear at school every week because class 1 will have lessons with Mrs. Hall on Friday afternoon.
We encourage all our children to be as independent as possible; to support this please can all clothing be named and identifiable to your child.
Please can all members of Class 1 continue to bring a complete change of clothes to school each day, in case of accidents or school clothes getting wet and messy.
Please keep an eye on Tapestry as well as your child's "Marvellous Me" account to learn about any news or advancements.
Finally a reminder that we do have an open door policy so if there is anything you need to discuss with us we are available before or after school on most days so feel free to come and speak to us we are here to help!.
