Restoration Techniques Ash Cartwright and Kelsey (Aided) School for Restorative Justice What do approaches to restorative justice entail?
Restorative justice strategies have been implemented by our school because they are consistent with the tenets of our Christian faith.
The following are the components of restorative justice approaches: * An understanding of how a community functions * An understanding of our obligations to the communities we are a part of, where we: * Confront unacceptable behaviour * Praise acceptable behaviour * Model restorative approaches * Develop self-regulating communities * An understanding of the communication skills required and a commitment to developing these.
RJ is built on four major tenets. HONOR RESPONSIBILITY MAINTENANCE REINTEGRATION What is RJ capable of for a school?

Champions for Mental Health First Aid We treat our students' mental health seriously because they need to be in the correct state of mind to learn.
There are several factors that have been identified as causing the epidemic of poor mental health in our young people, including peer pressure from schoolwork, social media, bullying, poverty, and a lack of access to professional mental health support.
It is obvious that young people do not receive the necessary help.
In our school, we have several trained Youth MHFA Champions who have: an awareness of typical problems with mental health and how they can impact young people
the capacity to recognise early indicators of mental illness in young people and to direct them to a supportive environment.
abilities to promote wellbeing Because of this, we can discuss mental health with confidence, stop fretting about what to do, and take action before things spiral out of control.
In order to empower people to foster psychologically healthy and supportive settings in their families, schools, youth groups, and communities, we wish to provide them with the skills to start these talks.
Our goal.
