Angmering's history department is a lively, successful location to study. We think that because each student is unique, they should have the opportunity to study in a variety of engaging methods and have their education personalised to help them advance. We believe that learning outside of the classroom is crucial to enhancing our curriculum, so we organise trips to cities like Rome, Berlin, Belgium, and London, to mention a few. On a day off from their regular schedule, all pupils study the Holocaust before meeting a real-life survivor and hearing their tale. Following a recent inspection by OFSTED, the history department was found to be excellent in one lesson and good with outstanding in others. Our KS4 and KS5 outcomes are far above the national average and demonstrate the dynamic teaching style and staff members' dedication to the achievement of every student. At KS4, 28% of our kids earned an A*-A grade and 72% received an A*-C, which is a remarkable accomplishment. Students at Key Stage 3 learn about the definition of history, mediaeval realms, the Mogul Empire, World War I, slavery, a revolution, Jack the Ripper, Weimar Germany, World War II, the Holocaust, and civil rights. We make an effort to keep the themes current and employ a range of teaching techniques, including heated debates, card sorts, essay writing, and keyword splatting. We give KS4 and KS5 students revision guides that our staff has produced. Additionally, we provide parents with the chance to buy exam revision materials from the school.
