YMCA - Camp Williams

Our community-focused approach of fostering Christian fundamental values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility continues to grow stronger than ever since 1871, when a group of friends founded a local chapter of the YMCA in Nottinghamshire.
The YMCA's objective has always been to promote youth development, social responsibility in our community, and healthy living for all, with the interests of youth and safeguarding their future ringing throughout every programme we give.
Many people in Nottingham associate the YMCA with the striking grade II listed art deco structure that is still standing in the heart of the city.
Construction on the Cecil Howitt-designed Nottingham Council House started in the 1930s, and amid the worst days of World War II, its doors opened in 1941.
Today, it houses the homeless and offers the public access to an amazing YMCA gym exercise centre open around-the-clock.
The YMCA commemorates VE Day by honouring the valour displayed by local soldiers and volunteers during World War Two.
Helping those in need of support motivates us to move forward, and inclusivity and a deep respect for all individuals, regardless of background, are at the core of all we do as a movement.
YMCA will celebrate the 175th anniversary of the global movement in 2019 with a global youth event from August 4–8 at ExCel London, UK.
In order to serve as a living example of what the movement truly means to hundreds of communities, YMCA175 brings together youth leaders, senior YMCA personnel, and networks from all over the world through a combination of conference and celebratory aspects.
In order to better comprehend youth empowerment moving forward into the charity's next chapter, the programme examines the YMCA's Christian identity, heritage, interfaith engagement, and ecumenical traditions.
