On Marsh Farm near Luton, there is a special needs school called Woodlands Secondary School for students ages 11 to 18.
Since it is the only secondary special school in the community, students attend from across Luton's catchment districts.
Our mission at Woodlands is to inspire and encourage our children and young people to reach their maximum potential. We believe that learning is a lifelong journey.
Our educational programme is individualised to meet the needs of each young person.
Our extensive and well-rounded curriculum emphasises practical learning and includes life skills to encourage and support independence.
The educational and therapeutic community at Woodlands School is active, enjoyable, and inclusive, and all of its members—students, their families, and staff—are always learning new things together.
Children and young people learn best when they are happy, and we place a great value on their emotional well-being.
Woodlands takes pride in the therapeutic assistance it offers to young people who are having a hard time adjusting to puberty.
The school offers training and school-based placements through an outreach programme for students and professionals at other Luton schools.
