In the heart of Milton, Portsmouth, two local professionals with a wealth of childcare expertise and experience founded Wind in the Willows, a home-from-home daycare.
We relocated to a new building on Hester Road in 2019, which made it possible for us to welcome additional kids.
We provide daycare at Wind in the Willows for kids 3 months to 5 years old, and we can also accommodate special needs.
We have rooms for infants (ages 3 months to about 15-18 months), toddlers (ages 15-18 months to 2–2.5 years), two-year-olds, and preschoolers (for 3 years and above).
The Mansa-Colley Bojang School in The Gambia and Wind in the Willows have a sister school relationship. Each year, our owner and director Karen Potter travels there to interact with the students and locals.
Karen Potter has since then gone on to win Nursery Manager of the year award 2020.
At Wind in the Willows, our goal is to provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment with an emphasis on the protection and growth of each individual child and their family while in our care.
By offering children from three months to five years old top quality care and instruction, we want to achieve this.
All kids, their families, and guests are made to feel welcome and at home in our secure, caring, home-away-from-home setting.
We provide day care in our neighbourhood and the surrounding region. It is run by two skilled, seasoned, and compassionate professionals who invite parental engagement since we think that parents are their children's first teachers and have the greatest impact on their lives.
We see parents as our collaborators in educating their kids, accepting their right to choose their own courses of study based on their own interests within the classroom's indoor and outdoor environments.
We interact with and learn about the local community, and we've developed close relationships with its residents who visit our facility and share their professional knowledge and skills with the kids and staff, resulting in authentic and fulfilling experiences for everyone.
For kids up to age 12, Wind in the Willows offers care over the summer. Find out more.

"Lovely atmosphere and great facilities.
The atmosphere is inviting and reminiscent of one large house, according to Alfie's mother.
He even now requests to attend nursery on weekends.
Everyone on staff is incredibly considerate!
My baby is thriving here because to the extremely welcoming, competent, and supporting staff!
We've seen such a huge change in her since starting here, especially with regards to her speech and socialising with both adults and children.
