White House Infants' Room Shirland, which was acquired from its prior owners in April 2021, is the most recent addition to The White House Nursery group. The nursery currently runs out of a cosy two-story structure with a safe, sizable garden for the kids to play in.
It serves families in the neighbourhood and around and can care for up to 50 children from birth to five years old.
The nursery's toddler unit, which is on the first level, provides everything kids in the 2-3 age range may possibly need.
Toddlers will appreciate new experiences and begin to gain more independence as they move from the security of the infant room to this room.
The facility has a large playroom with a carpeted area for activities, a hard floor area for messy play and mealtimes, as well as easy access to the front garden, where kids can play outside all year long.
The toddler section has nappy changing stations as well as its own child-sized toilets and wash basins for kids at different stages of toilet training in order to encourage children with toilet training and self-care skills.
Resources are chosen with care to promote a variety of important life skills, such as hand-eye coordination, numeracy and literacy, gross and fine motor skills, personal, social, and emotional skills, as well as the beginnings of risk-taking and critical thinking through child-led and adult-led activities.
The pre-school area is similarly on the ground floor and has direct access for youngsters through patio doors to the backyard.
Our oldest children can participate in a variety of activities in this wonderful environment, either individually, in groups, under the direction of children or adults, or both.
The unit's finishing touches are the kitchenette and kids' bathroom.
Children's attention switches to school readiness and becoming ready for life after nursery when they go on to the preschool room.
Children ages 3-5 will particularly blossom in this environment as they develop their personalities, build trusting bonds with staff, and still support kids in learning through play and pursuing their own interests.
Children have access to outdoor play in all four seasons, which provides them with valuable educational opportunities as they learn about the various climates, plants and animals, and our ecosystems. It also provides them with the fresh air and exposure to the outdoors that they need to develop healthy immune systems.
