Twinkle Cottage Day Nursery

Since its September 2011 opening, Twinkle Cottage Day Nursery has been offering families in the Fratton neighbourhood excellent care and instruction. For owner Lorraine Gahagan, who also manages Twinkle Star Day Facility in Portsmouth's North End neighbourhood, Twinkle Cottage is her second nursery.
Twinkle Cottage relies on developing close bonds with the families who frequent the location. We frequently attend the neighbourhood library and are spotted in the neighbourhood using the parks, transportation, and local seafront.
We encourage parents and caregivers to visit, perhaps sign up for the parent rota, or simply drop by to hear a story.
Every child is handled uniquely while at the setting, and that is precisely how they should be! Parents and caregivers are kept informed about their child's progress at nursery, and of course, regular liaisons with the key person ensure that communication between home and nursery is consistent. This is accomplished by using the online learning Journal and during handovers. Practitioners plan fun and exciting learning opportunities for each child while ensuring that they are working toward identified next steps.
We have strong relationships with the neighbourhood elementary schools and work closely with the staff to make the transition from nursery to primary school a positive and stress-free experience for everyone in the family.
