Welcome to our school website. My name is Lisa Portch, and I am the headteacher of St. Johns Primary School.
There are now 122 students in five classrooms, ranging from Reception to Year 6.
The Thrive Approach is a dynamic developmental method of working with children to enhance emotional stability and wellness via play, conversation, theatre, and art. We are glad to inform that all of the staff members within our school have now successfully completed training in this method.
All the kids in our care have the chance to focus on emotional regulation and emotional developmental requirements at our school, which helps them become resilient and resourceful.
Depending on the particular requirements of the kids or class, this could happen in a small group, the entire class, or one-on-one.
Our certified Thrive Practitioner, Mrs. Dunkley, has trained every member of staff and works one-on-one with kids.
In light of the current national emphasis on children's mental health and wellbeing, Thrive will be extremely beneficial for each student in our school.
I, our governors, and our fantastic staff team have a strategic goal to make sure the school keeps advancing and expanding for the benefit of all the kids.
Collaboration between the school and the parents is crucial.
To make sure that the expectations are clear and the kids receive the necessary assistance from both home and school, the behaviour and homework regulations were created with input from the whole school community.
We welcome parental inquiries, worries, or congratulations on their children's academic success.
Every academic year, we have two parent nights, and at Easter, each teacher submits a written report to the parents.
The information on this website just scratches the surface of what St. Johns has to offer, and we know how crucial it is to place your kid in the best possible learning environment.
Therefore, if you believe your kid would wish to attend St. John's, we want you to stop by and see us so you can learn about and experience our school's philosophies, vision, and ethos.
