The Ark Centre

I, Sarah Day, and my partner Nick Cheshire, who are the parents of two autistic children, started The Ark Centre in June 2015. It was established as a regulated setting for providing other families with autistic children with effective intervention and critical support. In order to provide Occupational Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy all under one roof, we originally created the first centre of its sort in Essex. Before they enter school, our team provides specialised therapy to kids ages 2 to 5 who have social communication challenges and/or autism. At The Ark Centre, we are all aware of the value of early intervention for autistic children in order to provide them the preparedness to master skills needed to allow them to access future learning opportunities. It is multidisciplinary and houses ABA, SLT, and OT together. Our programmes are both useful and enjoyable for the kids. Our therapy sessions significantly improve the lives of the families we help as well as the children we work with. Our son and daughter don't have to miss out on activities because of you because we can now go out as a family without having frequent meltdowns. Your help has allowed our son to articulate his wishes without becoming irate. Our son isn't terrified of change anymore thanks to you. Our home is lot less stressful because of you.
