Sunderland Womens Centre supports women from underrepresented or disadvantaged groups and works to identify and remove learning barriers in order to promote equality of opportunity. We also work to foster a good attitude toward lifelong learning and to take a holistic approach to the general well-being of all women and children.
By removing barriers to participation in educational opportunities, SWC hopes to foster a feeling of purpose and accomplishment, enhance possibilities for employment and quality of life, and motivate learners who may have felt excluded. In order to encourage a good attitude toward lifelong learning, we provide direction, support, confidence building, and awareness raising.
