At St. Wilfrids CE Primary School, we continuously work to instil both Christian and British values throughout the academic year. These are emphasised throughout various subjects of the curriculum, such as field trips and visits, and are specifically reinforced during our worship services, PSHE instruction, and P4C.
We work to advance democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, respect for one another, tolerance, and "Britishness."
We give kids the chance to argue and converse, especially during P4C sessions.
We urge kids to cast ballots and provide their "student voice," including through surveys.
We work to provide children with opportunities to assume additional duties, such as prefect and monitor positions and school council representatives.
Children are encouraged to make moral decisions by being taught the distinction between right and evil.
Children are taught that breaking the law has repercussions and that the law is designed to protect them.
Children are expected to abide by the regulations of the school and consider their decisions.
Police officers visit schools to educate students about the law. Students in Year 6 attend critical crew.
Children are given the chance to express themselves, including their preferences and ideas.
Children are urged to take risks, try new things, and work outside of their comfort zones.
We teach kids to set a good example by being kind and helpful to others.
We are taught to tolerate differences, respect others, and respect our own.
We advocate for a setting that encourages learning for all people.
Bullying is not tolerated, and any behavioural concerns are quickly resolved.
Making connections and contrasts between different religions and cultures and Christianity is part of our curriculum for kids.
We observe significant historical anniversaries, enjoy British holidays, and support our nation at significant athletic events.
