The Federation Governing Body was formed in September 2013, when the two schools were officially joined together in a federation.
This is so because the school is a "Aided" one, which means that the governors are the employers of any staff members who use the school as their place of employment.
Additionally, the Governing Body is the School's Admissions Authority (not Hampshire).
We are presently seeking submissions from candidates to assist us better reflect the diversity of our larger community as we look to add one new governor (as a Co-opted Governor).

Setting the vision, values and objectives for the federation and the two schools.
Quite simply, school governing bodies are in charge of collaborating with schools to ensure that they provide high-quality instruction, but their role extends far beyond that. They also set the vision, ethos, and strategic direction of the federation or school, hold the headteacher accountable for the academic performance of the schools and their students, and monitor the financial performance of the institutions to ensure that funds are being wisely spent.
For us, it implies that we consider each school both on its own and as a unit within a federation of two schools.
Each governor is given one or more areas of oversight and accountability, such as standards for particular subjects taught in the classrooms, ensuring that students with special needs are taken into account, ensuring that health and safety standards are followed throughout the schools, evaluating staff performance integrity, attending interviews, grievances and disciplinary proceedings, and approving expenditures for new facilities and equipment.
