Southgate West Playgroup

The Southgate West Playgroup was founded in the 1970s by parents with ties to the Southgate West First and Middle Schools. It is a community-run playgroup. The playgroup is governed by a committee of parents who are elected annually and work with the staff to make it a non-profit organisation that serves the neighbourhood.
All proceeds from our fundraising efforts go toward sustaining and enhancing the organization's resources. We are a registered charity with the Charities Commission (No. 1022363).
From the age of three, kids can begin at Southgate West Playgroup. The morning classes run from 9.00am to 12.00pm, and the afternoon sessions run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, Monday through Friday. Children are welcome to spend the entire day from 9 am to 3 pm for just $2 to cover lunch care. Our purpose-built residence is located on the grounds of Hilltop Primary School. We have a sizable classroom, a kitchen, an office, and restrooms in the building (for children and the disabled). We have secure entry doors and handicap accessibility. We have a hard standing with a cover and a grassy area in our enclosed outdoor space.
We are Pre-School Alliance members and have 26 children each session registered with Ofsted. At every session, there are always four staff members present: a Supervisor and three assistants. All of our assistants have at least one pertinent credential, and our supervisor and assistant supervisor have training that satisfies registration criteria.
Our goal is to provide a safe, secure, and engaging environment while enhancing the development and education of children who are not yet of compulsory school age. We are aware that parents and other caregivers are their young children's first and most important teachers, and that youngsters learn best when their parents are involved.
