When Smiles Montessori Pre-School first opened its doors in January 2003, we had 64 students enrolled each day, ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years. Within six months, we were virtually at capacity.
The nursery has improved over time, receiving three Outstanding Ofsted inspections.
We launched our purpose-built sister nursery in Newhall in January 2017.
The owner of both of our locations is Julia Jeffrey, who has a passion for working with young children. Julia has a commitment to lifelong learning and participates in a number of community organisations to assist raise standards.
Julia has earned all of her certifications, including the Montessori Diploma, Early Years Professional Status, and a degree in early childhood education.
She has over 20 years of experience in the field and has contributed significantly to the continuous success of both nurseries.
Dee began working at Smiles Bush Fair in 2015 as a newly trained assistant. A few years later, in 2016, Dee was promoted to room supervisor for the preschool.
Dee received training from Julia and Hollie to become a proactive and inspiring deputy manager in 2018, and in 2022, she took over as manager.
Dee aspires to provide all children who use the setting with exceptional care and education.
She is passionate about leadership and providing workers and children with high-quality care.
Throughout her professional life, Dee has earned a number of credentials, including a Level 4 in Childcare and Management in Education, as well as a concentration in Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
Dee is committed to continuing her education because she has a passion for working with young children and wants to be the best trainer possible for her team.
Since 2005, Hollie has been a member of the Smiles Team. She started her career there as an apprentice.
Before moving to manage the Newhall setting, Hollie worked her way up through the organisation to become Manager of the Bush Fair branch.
Hollie has acquired a number of credentials throughout her professional life, and she is certified to Level 5 in Childcare and Education and holds a full Montessori Diploma.
