Mrs. Marlene Venables, who had a vision for education that put a strong emphasis on the individual, founded Salterford House School in 1981 as a fee-paying independent prep school for children ages three to eleven.
The school began with 8 students and now has 100. The students are taught in small classrooms of about 10–12 by devoted and trained professionals with the assistance of talented and motivated teaching assistants.
The school is a family-run enterprise that is still owned by Mrs. Venables, whose daughter Ms. K. Venables now serves as headteacher.
The school's lovely 4 acre property located in the middle of rural North Nottinghamshire is one of its unique features, along with the family atmosphere you experience the moment you walk into reception.
It has always been a goal of Salterford House to foster the curiosity and enthusiasm for learning of creative minds.
to make certain that each student is given access to the whole curriculum.
to offer students a pertinent, demanding curriculum that will inspire them to realise their full potential.
To develop a curriculum that will not only inspire kids but also help them to appreciate the value of education.
to create a lively, exciting environment that will encourage learning-focused attitudes.
All kids should be urged to "be the best that they can be."
