The government has promised to provide schools more money by offering the Year 7 Catch-up premium.
Each Year 7 student who did not meet the required standard in reading and/or maths at the conclusion of Key Stage 2 is targeted by this (KS2).
With the help of this money, Brakenhale will be able to provide additional assistance to the kids who need it the most, such as individualised instruction or intense small-group support.
According to the curriculum standards for the upcoming academic year, schools should utilise this cash to help pupils make up for missing instruction during the previous months.

Following its initial success, The CODE Phonics intervention will be implemented again to help pupils read accurately and fluently; early identification will enable earlier intervention through potential primary workshops and more regular school staff visits.
Give current TAs the chance to receive this level of training so they may conduct further (and more) interventions in both literacy and numeracy.
In order to create and provide a pertinent, concentrated, and educational transition for the Year 7 Cohort joining the school in September 2020, resources were utilised.
To keep our Year 7 cohort and families informed about their learning and education, a website was created, material was made available, and online meetings were organised.

A highly successful resource was created and made accessible to all of our incoming Year 7 pupils; parental interest in and approval of its content were extremely high. Families also had access to a dedicated email address for inquiries about the transition.
The secondary staff was given time to concentrate on their year 7 curriculum plans in preparation for September, in order to include lost learning topics and units as well as additional time to revisit Year 6 content. Online and virtual discussions with Year 6 / Primary staff were held to share curriculum content, planning, and lost learning.
Plans for the curriculum were presented to the Core HOD and reviewed with the LA Transition Group.
All Year 7 students will participate in the ARTi Reading programme and the CAT Test programme upon entering Brakenhale School 3000*.
Again, both programmes were acquired and utilised to learn more about the incoming cohort.
The estimated expenditures do not add up to the stated amount since the catch-up premium for this academic year (including Year 7 catch-up) has not yet been determined.
