The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership completed a review of its governance practises and structures for the Partnership as a whole as well as for each of its constituent schools in late 2021.
As the ATLP expands, the main emphasis will be on increasing information flows and defining the function of local school governance, which up to this point has been provided by Local Governing Bodies.
The Trust Boards goal was to find a new way to maintain strong, meaningful ties with ATLP schools and their communities as the governance needs changed over the last five years, particularly due to the impact of the pandemic and the ongoing centralization of many functions previously managed by individual schools.
With the addition of the Governance and Consultation Network and local School Advocates, who will offer specialised and targeted support in an advisory capacity to their school/group of schools and the Trust as a whole, the new governance structure that will be adopted in the 2022–2023 academic year supports this ethos.
The previous local school governor job and local governing bodies will be replaced by the advocate roles and the trust-wide committees that support them, and a fresh focus on collective progress and excellence throughout our family of schools will result.
At this time, Greysbrooke Primary School is looking for individuals to join our team as school advocates.
In order to improve chances for students and their schools and make sure the school is as strong as it can be, advocates will be selected for a period of four years and work closely with the school administration.
