From the Queen Mary Nursery
Queen Mary's Nursery is housed in a stunning Victorian structure that was first constructed in 1899 as a children's home and refurbished in 1919. The nursery offers year-round full-day care for your kids.
Read the Ofsted Report to see how our nursery was rated as Good in every category in January 2019.
Three playrooms are located in the main building of our lovely structure, and two playrooms for young children are located in the separate infant section. Additionally, there is a separate sensory chamber. Two safe outdoor play spaces are located in the pre-school facility, one for children ages 3 to 4 and the other for those ages 2 to 3. In the baby unit, there is a separate, secure play space for kids.
There are 72 children registered at the nursery, ranging in age from 3 months to school age.
We welcome kids who are getting free early childhood education grants for 15 or 30 hours.
Practitioners who care for children all hold Paediatric First Aid Certificates and have Early Years certifications (or are working toward them).
During their time with us the children can make use of the extensive nursery grounds where they enjoy supervised play on climbing frames, riding bikes, cooking in the mud kitchen, exploring nature and making dens. Inside, the kids take part in a broad curriculum that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and is full of fun, demanding activities and experiences. Children love playing and exploring with a variety of natural materials in our continuous supply, free flow play environment.
The kids are welcome to remain and have breakfast, lunch, and tea with their pals. An honourable outside caterer prepares each of our meals from scratch.
Parents input is valued throughout the nursery and we see parent partnership as key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children.
