The oldest specialised music school in Britain is The Purcell School. Around 180 musically gifted young people call the co-educational boarding and day school in Bushey, Hertfordshire, home. Each of them is passionate about developing their skill. Our goal is to give these promising young musicians from all walks of life the greatest instruction and atmosphere possible so they can reach their full potential. In acknowledgment of the School's distinctive contribution to music, education, and global culture, we provide the highest calibre of world-class musical teaching and currently hold the UNESCO Mozart Gold Medal. The School offers excellent possibilities for practise, performance, and the development of musicianship, and it also offers a well-rounded academic education that serves to prepare our students for careers as musicians that last a lifetime. A loving environment where students can develop engaging and supportive relationships with other gifted students adds to the high calibre of instruction and exceptional pastoral care.
