At Pettitts Pre-School, we offer a safe, loving, joyful, and structured atmosphere where the kids learn via engaging in meaningful play using tools and props that have been hand-picked by the staff.
Each of the children's activities at Pettitts offers a learning opportunity; for instance, by becoming used to seeing their names on paintings and sketches, they are preparing for reading. This and other labelling techniques, books in the book corner, and storytelling help kids become familiar with the written word and foster a love of reading.
By expressing their thoughts through drawings and mastering proper pen and pencil technique, the kids are becoming ready to write.
Sorting, matching, choosing, and ordering while using elements like sand, water, and building items helps children prepare for math. Jigsaw puzzles, video games, paintings, drawings, and computer animation all promote the understanding of colour and shape.
The kids learn about the world, take part in physical education, and play outside. They regularly sing songs and rhymes and get the chance to play musical instruments.
Both individually and in groups, the growing attention span of the children is accounted for. The children's language skills are developed through opportunities for discussing, describing, questioning, listening, and recalling. The daily nursery routine includes teaching and encouraging many practical skills, such as washing and drying dishes, using the restroom (and washing your hands!) and tidying up.
Children at preschool learn to respect and care for one another while also making new friends. They develop their ability to share and take turns as well as their independence. They also pick up the ability to follow directions, adhere to regulations, and follow routines, which helps children get ready for school.
