From the Parkview Community Playgroup
The Parkview Community Playgroup was founded in the middle of the 1980s by a small group of mothers who wanted to send their own children to the kind of pre-school they had created. The fundamental Parkview concepts of play-led and child-centered learning in a nurturing atmosphere were initially established there, then based in one of their homes.
Sandra Everatt joined this devoted group in 1990, rose to the position of Supervisor in 1996, and added Kate Booth as a co-Supervisor in 2007. The playgroup had extended into Hiltingbury Pavilion by that point due to its growing popularity. The Parkview Community Playgroup was the first option of "resident" pre-school at The Hilt Community Centre when it was created because of its reputation for providing quality pre-school care and the great demand for spots. Children continue to benefit from Parkview's location next to a playground and across the street from Hiltingbury Infant School, which they now call home. In 2009, Parkview opened its doors to the bright, roomy, and airy Hocombe Hall at the Hilt, where they are currently housed (although our children go on to various primary schools in the surrounding area).
A community-led pre-school with recognised nonprofit status, Parkview Community Playgroup is widely regarded and well-loved (1153914). In contrast to many nurseries and pre-schools, Parkview is run by a parent-led committee, Sandra Everatt, the supervisor, and a group of Key Personnel with extensive expertise who interact with the children.
Over the years, Parkview has drawn a lot of parents and caregivers because of its loving atmosphere.
Others appreciate the potential parental participation and contributions. The flexible, cooperative, and compassionate settling-in phases for kids are welcomed by almost all parents and are always handled in accordance with each child's needs and the parents' preferences.
