New Close Nursery

The Academy Council's responsibility is to uphold and defend the school's standards. It is our responsibility to ensure that every kid can realise his or her full potential in a secure and nurturing atmosphere because we are the guardians of the school's ethos as council members.
Ryan has experience working in education and currently resides in Warminster. He is currently the Chief Executive of the Students' Union at the University of Reading. He formerly held positions at Weston College, Bristol University, and Oxford University. Ryan is eager to share his knowledge with New Close School after serving as a governor for a number of years in Westbury.
He chairs the academy council and is in charge of math and safety.
In 2010, Karen, an accomplished school business manager, joined New Close. Karen's role has changed since joining the Acorn Education Trust to include assisting the primary schools throughout the Trust in standardising their operational systems, achieving efficiency in their working procedures, and making sure they are compliant and meeting the needs of the school.
Charis, a native of Surrey, has delighted in being a teacher ever since graduating from Roehampton Institute of Education in 1998. Although she has experience teaching all primary age groups, her area of expertise is in the early years.
Currently, Charis is the Rabbit Class teacher and EYFS leader. She has worked with the Acorn Trust to prepare and carry out the opening of the Early Years Unit, which has nursery (3 years+) and Reception students working side by side in a setting ideal for implementing the Early Years Curriculum.
Charis gave up her SENCO position at New Close to concentrate on her career as an early childhood educator, but she is now a member of the SEND academy council.
